Here is an interesting article on "Use of poor quality water to produce high biomass yields of giant reed (
Arundo donax L.) on marginal lands for biofuel or pulp/paper".
According to this paper the comparative bio ethanol yield (L/ha) of biomass are:
- Arundo donax - 11,000 L/ha
- Corn - 4,400 L/ha
- Sugarcane - 8,800 L/ha
- Switchgrass - 4,600 L/ha
They have also given the profit and benefit-cost analyses (BCA) for two potential Adx enterprises in South Australia.
